Two of Lees Ferrys most experienced fishing guides

Dave Foster began his relationship with the Colorado River at age 7 when his family began operating the Marble Canyon Lodge.  Spending his summers there, he began fishing the Lees Ferry fishery almost from the time it was created with the construction of Glen Canyon Dam in 1963. By 13 he was running river trips in Grand Canyon and continued to do so, off and on, through most of his life.  He has worked as a National Park Service river ranger,  researcher at Lees Ferry and mechanic for the U.S. Geological Survey and is the author of Fly Fishing Lees Ferry-The Complete Guide to Fishing and Boating Below Glen Canyon Dam.  He began guiding at Lees Ferry in 1986 and has spent thousands of days helping clients improve their fly fishing skills and get the most out of their Lees Ferry experience.

Born and raised in Flagstaff Arizona, Trimble began fishing Lees Ferry as a teen in mid the 90’s.  At that time he met Dave Foster, who was then the owner of Marble Canyon Outfitters, and began tying flies for Fosters guide service. A few years later Foster hired Trimble as a guide and fly shop employee. Dave Trimble has guided many places from Alaska to Panama since starting his guide career at Lees Ferry with Dave Foster. When he’s not on the river catching rainbows, in the summer,  you can find him in San Diego California where he runs On The Fly Fishing Charters and guides his fly fishing clients to a variety of saltwater species including the world class game fish the mako shark.
